Yet, she hesitated to accept her findings until she compared it with her own DNA. She was taken aback to discover the same code in her DNA that she found in her subject, which she now names "Kigeni," meaning alien in Swahili.

She and her life partner learn that at least 80,000 years ago, these DNA strands had coding sequences artificially implanted into humans. Dr. Stephen deciphers the encrypted DNA code using his software and understanding of ciphers.
