Nick Westerman

I am a self-published author who has taken advantage of the AI boom to bring to life stories and poems that I have written over many years.

I spent about eight years working as a private tutor in Hong Kong, where I was always looking for reading material that would engage my students. When I couldn't find quite what I wanted, I often wrote it myself. I also wrote stories and poems for my niece in Sydney, who was in the same age group.

Over the years, this left me with a large collection of children's writing — but without illustrations, much of it remained unpublished. The arrival of AI illustration has changed that. The process can certainly be frustrating, but it has finally given me the opportunity to turn many of those old stories and poems into the books I originally imagined.

I still have plenty of material waiting to be published, as well as more new ideas than I probably know what to do with.

I also write for adults and regularly submit short stories and poetry to anthologies. I have been fortunate enough to have a number of these published.
