Author of the conspiracy thriller ‘The Shape of Rain’, an ‘Imperium Immortalé’ novel, Nick Hirst has just completed ‘Second Spider from the Right’, a near future sci-fi conspiracy thriller, and also an Imperium Immortalé novel, due out in September 2026. It's 2084, and a freighter pilot follows a trail of cryptic clues left by his dead uncle—and uncovers a conspiracy powerful enough to decide who lives and who dies.
Meanwhile Hirst has already begun work on his 3rd book – a contemporary sci-fi time travel thriller provisionally titled ‘Past Perfect, Future Tense’.
Originally from London, Nick Hirst is a former BBC producer and journalist specialising in music and entertainment programming. Prior to this, he had been the first professional TV and radio presenter on Saudi Arabia’s English language TV and radio services.
As a writer, he has contributed over two hundred magazine and internet articles on subjects as wide ranging as music, football and finance and worked on the script for the 2015 documentary film ‘Sugar Blues’ by acclaimed Czech director – Andrea Culkova. With hundreds of radio programmes to his name, he has interviewed some of the biggest names in music around the world for the BBC from Paul McCartney to the BeeGees, Ozzy Osbourne to Lemmy, Megadeth to Lynryd Skynryd, Cher to The Bangles and many more. After 13 years living in the Czech Republic, he now resides in Brussels, Belgium, where his wife works for the European Parliament.
In November 2025, he launched a lifestyle podcast series – ‘Life Happens*’, which he co-presents with Michelle R Williams.
Married with two teenage children, Nick owns property in England and Czechia and currently resides in Brussels, Belgium.
