Dexuality, was born, raised and educated in Manchester.
He studied Design and Art Direction at Manchester Metropolitan University.
At the age of 14 he won an award for reading more books than anyone else at his school, which earned him a book token and plenty of playground mockery.
He currently lives in Blyth, Northumberland with his wife and three dogs. He is also known as Dex Hannon, an award-winning artist.
He is a photographer, sometimes a poet and also a musician known as Skin Vehicles, DVEC and SkinGasm whose music has featured on BBC Radio several times.
