R.W. Finlan

Richard William Patrick Finlan was born in 1950, near Newport in South Wales. He is married to Josanne and has two daughters, Sinead and Kelly, as well as two grandsons, Iestyn and Ieuan. He grew up in Sebastopol, near Pontypool. After working as an apprentice butcher and a chemical process technician, he became Sport and Features Editor of The Pontypool Free Press.

Richard has written a series of sci-fi fantasy novels, including collaborations with Darren Powis. Both also created and wrote a series of spoof news stories inspired by their journalism careers.

Richard plays blues and classical guitar and writes songs and poetry. He also creates models of World War II fighting vehicles. He enjoys the history of World War II, along with Roman history, sci-fi, fantasy, and horror, and is an avid reader. He wants to retire somewhere warm, where he can laze around, drink wine, and smoke good cigars.
